The only clocks we shy away from are electric plug-in and battery operated quartz anniversary clocks. We repair rare clocks like Ansonia China with Visible Escapements and all French or Crystal Regulator clocks. Contact Us for an appointment to come to your home for a service call anywhere in the Greater St. Louis Metro Area to oil and adjust your Grandfather Clock. You can bring your mantel, wall, or cuckoo clock in for repair directly to our store. We will give you an estimate for a warrantied overhaul. Proper Care of Your Heirloom Just like any fine automobile, your clock needs to be taken care of to insure years and years of long life. Metal parts wear down over time, and they need to be kept lubricated to insure long life. It is recommended that your clock movement be oiled every three years from the date of purchase and thoroughly cleaned every 12 to 15 years depending on climatic conditions. Avoid exposing the clock to direct sunlight and protect from extreme temperatures and humidity changes. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may fade the finish while extreme temperature and humidity changes may cause the wood to split or crack. Check periodically to ensure that your clock rests firmly on all four levelers. This is especially important the first few months if the clock is on carpet. As the clock’s feet settle into the carpet, it could become unbalanced. Adjustment to any of the four levelers may be needed. Extremely dry, humid or salty air, heat or cold may necessitate more frequent servicing. If you think it might be time for your clock to come in for a check up, contact us and we'll be happy to talk to you about helping you keep your heirloom in top shape.
